Part- Time Sales Assistant

The Part-time Sales Assistant will report to Store Owner.

Job Overview

As the part-time sales assistant, you will look to exceed our customers' expectations by delivering an excellent shopping experience! Sales Assistant duties include selling, restocking and merchandising. The goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase company’s growth and revenue through sales maximisation. You will be creative and have a passion for eco-friendly children's clothing/ gifts, enjoy working with people, and help assist customers when looking for gifts for the little ones in their life. Previous retail experience would be an advantage and knowledge of sewing (or passion to learn) would be an added bonus, but most importantly you have an excitement when delivering outstanding customer service and connecting our clients with the perfect items. A good knowledge of IT will be helpful and you will love working as part of a team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Opening and closing responsibilities
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Maintaining outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Assist with the sales process by maintaining a fully stocked store
  • Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
  • Recommend and display items that match customer needs
  • Welcome and greet customers
  • Manage point-of-sale processes
  • Actively involve in the receiving of new shipments
  • Keep up to date with product information
  • Accurately describe product features and benefits
  • Assist Store Owner in IT projects including, but not limited to social media and website maintenance (No previous experience required)
  • Assist Store Owner in sewing projects including, but not limited to preparing fabric and sewing (No previous experience required)
  • Follow all companies policies and procedures

Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
  • Basic administration skills

Desired

  • Proven working experience in retail sales
  • Sewing Skills
  • Social Media Knowledge

The Part-time Sales Assistant will be a minimum of 10 hours per week, mostly on the weekends. Rate of pay is £10 per hour, plus paid holiday, staff discount and, if eligible, a workplace pension.
